Jayam Trouth, M.D., currently the chairperson for the Department
of Neurology at Howard University Hospital and Associate Professor
of Neurology has had a distinguished career at Howard University
for over 20 years. She is board certified in Neurology, Psychiatry
with a special competence in Pediatric Neurology and also serves
as the director of Pediatric Neurology at Howard University Hospital.
She is an active researcher and is widely published in the areas
of stroke, effects of maternal cocaine use on babies in utero
and epilepsy just to name a few. Dr Trouth has been honored numerous
occasions by students for her excellence in teaching, most recently
receiving the Kaiser Permanente Senior Faculty Award for Excellence
in Teaching: Awarded by the College of Medicine in November 2003.
She makes numerous appearance in the community on radio, television
and at health fairs to discuss common neurological disorders like
migraine, seizures and stroke.
