Terrorism
and natural disasters are a reality for the community at large
and the disastrous events of September 11th, 2001 have changed
our lives significantly. From a societal standpoint, we now
have a personal responsibility for the safety of our families,
our neighbors and our nation.
This
presentation will provide accurate information on Weapons
of Mass Destruction (WMDs) that could possibly be deployed
in terrorist attacks, including biological agents. We will
discuss the effects, acute injury and trauma casued by various
agents, including chemical, biological, radiological, and
explosive agents. An overview of risk-communication and
appropriate self & buddy-care responses for those affected
will be provided.
